The Brazos Valley Fair & Rodeo’s Pumpkin Decorating Contest is your chance to turn an ordinary pumpkin into a masterpiece—no carving allowed! From cowboy hats and rodeo scenes to spooky saloons or Disney favorites, this contest is all about creativity and fun for the whole family.

Every entry will help bring festive flair to the fairgrounds during kickoff and fair weekend. Winning pumpkins from each age division will be proudly displayed in the Exhibit Hall, but every participant gets their moment to shine!

Make sure to visit the Fair Exhibit Hall to see ALL of the pumpkins on display! All entries will be on display during the 2025 Brazos Valley Fair & Rodeo, October 17-19.

Age Divisions:

Peewee – Kinder to 2nd Grade
Junior – 3rd to 5th Grade
Intermediate – 6th to 8th Grade
Senior – 9th to 12th Grade
Adult – 18+ years

Decorating Categories:

Retro Rodeo & Fair – Rodeo scenes, livestock, blue ribbons & carnival fun
Disney Magic – Classic Disney characters (western spin optional!)
Spooky Halloween – Haunted saloons, ghost towns, and pumpkin fright
Freestyle Round-Up – Let your imagination run wild!
