1 of 4
The Brazos Valley Fair & Rodeo’s Educational Programs are a significant part of the BVFR's goals of benefiting youth, supporting education, and facilitating better agricultural understanding. All recipients of BVFR scholarships must demonstrate academic potential, leadership and financial need.

Currently, the Brazos Valley Fair & Rodeo (BVFR) awards three, $1,500 General Scholarships to outstanding students who are seeking to earn a degree from an accredited college, university, or post-secondary institution. In addition, the Fair has added increased scholarships through the livestock department to youth exhibiting in the Junior Livestock Shows during the Fair. For additional information on all livestock scholarships please visit the corresponding show page.

Beginning in 2020 the Brazos Valley Fair added an additional scholarship thanks to the generous contribution from Texas Flame and Smoke. This $1,000 scholarship was awarded for the first time in 2020. The Texas Star Scholarship is open to high school juniors and seniors from the eight counties that make up the base of the Brazos Valley Fair & Rodeo region.

Since the first event in 2012 the Fair has awarded over $100,750 in scholarship monies to qualified youth. The program initially awarded a portion of Fair scholarships through the Texas 4-H Program but as the Brazos Valley Fair has continued to grow the program has expanded and since 2017 all Scholarships are awarded directly through the Brazos Valley Fair & Rodeo Scholarship System.
