PAST GENERAL SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

2022 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT - Kennedy Hobbs

Kennedy Hobbs, a resident in Milam County, began her 4-H career by showing cattle nine years ago. While she started off with breeding heifers and hogs, she quickly fell in love with exhibiting market steers. Through 4-H, Kennedy has served as her club’s President, County Council Chairman, NRS Show Team Member, and serves as a Texas 4-H Livestock Ambassador. She also has competed in many contests such as livestock judging, public speaking, job interview, and many more. Her future plans include attending Texas A&M and obtaining a degree in agricultural economics.

2022 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT - Taylor Colvin

Ms. Taylor Colvin is a Junior at Earl Rudder High School and will graduate in May of 2023. She plans to attend West Texas A&M and pursue a degree in Animal Science with the hopes of attending med school and becoming an anesthesiologist.

2021 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT - WESTON McELROY

Mr. Weston McElroy is a Senior at Rudder High School. He plans to attend Texas A&M with a degree in Animal Science with plans to become a professor and youth extension specialist in sheep and goat nutrition.

2020 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT - COURTNEY THURMAN

Ms. Thurman is a Senior at James Early Rudder high School. She plans to attend Texas Tech or Texas A&M when she graduates next May and pursue an Agricultural Communications degree.

2020 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT - BAILEY HALBERT

Ms. Halbert is a graduate from the Salt & Light Preparatory Academy. She plans to attend Blinn College in the Fall. Bailey will major in nursing with hopes of becoming a pediatric nurse one day.

2019 Scholarship Recipient - Rylie Philipello

Ms. Philipello is a graduate from Earl Rudder High School. She plans to attend Blinn College in the Fall. Rylie will major in Animal Science with the hopes of becoming a veterinarian one day.

2018 Scholarship Recipient - Baylee Hogan

Ms. Hogan is a Senior at Franklin High School. She plans to attend Oklahoma State University in the fall. Baylee will major in Agricultural Communications and hopes to one day work in marketing at an agricultural cooperation.

2017 Scholarship Recipient - ANICA WINN

Ms. Winn is a Senior at A&M Consolidated High School. She plans to attend Texas A&M University next Fall. Anica will major in Biomedical Science with the goal of pursuing Veterinary Medicine.

2022 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT - Miranda Skaggs

Ms. Miranda Skaggs is a Junior at Rudder High School. She plans to attend Texas A&M University with a degree in Animal Science, with plans to become an agricultural lawyer.

2021 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT - PEYTON SMITH

Ms. Peyton Smith is a Junior at College Station High School and will graduate May of 2022. She plans to attend Texas A&M with a degree in Ag business or marketing and plans to become an Extension Agent.

2021 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT - MADISON COLVIN

Ms. Madison Colvin is a Senior from Rudder High School and plans to attend West Texas A&M in the Fall. She will major in Agriculture Education and plans to become an Extension Agent.

2020 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT - MADILYNN CAPERTON

Ms. Caperton is a graduate from Madisonville High School and plans to attend Texas A&M in the Fall. Madilynn will major in Kinesiology and Health with the hopes of becoming a physical therapist.

2019 Scholarship Recipient - Landry Cunningham

Ms. Cunningham graduated from Iola High School in May. She plans to attend Texas A&M University in the Fall. Landry will major in Animal Science and hopes to one day become a veterinarian.

2018 Scholarship Recipient - Rylee Cass

Ms. Cass is a Senior at Anderson-Shiro High School. She plans to attend Texas Tech University in the fall. Rylee will major in Agricultural Communications with a goal of pursuing a law degree.

2017 Scholarship Recipient - KEELIE WENDT

Ms. Wendt graduated from College Station High School in 2017 and is now attending Blinn College where she is majoring in Agriculture. By the spring of 2018 she hopes to attend Texas A&M University where she will major in Ag Communications & Journalism.
