HOWDY! We are looking forward to some awesome Mutton Bustin' action during the 2026 Brazos Valley Fair Rodeo!

NEW THIS YEAR!

Mutton Bustin' Sign-ups will be held online. Entries open September 1st 8:00am. All slots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. 15 spots each time slot. ALL Mutton Bustin will be held in AgLand for the 2026 Fair and Rodeo. We will be giving away a belt buckle at EACH performance!

Friday: 4:30PM, 6:00PM
Saturday : 12:00PM, 2:00PM, 4:00PM
Sunday: 12:30PM, 2:00PM,6:00PM

Entry into the Rodeo WILL NOT BE FREE this year.
Adult rodeo admission tickets will be $30 and children rodeo tickets (ages 10-3) will be $20.

Each registered contestant will receive 1 General Admission Ticket. This is NOT a rodeo ticket.

Please note that once you have entered here the Brazos Valley Fair & Rodeo Staff will contact you to confirm your application. Your entry IS NOT guaranteed until you have confirmation from BVFR Staff.

Please understand that by entering your contestant they must abide by all rules and MUST weigh in prior to riding. If contestant is not within the required weight limit they will be disqualified and no refunds will be given.
BE SURE TO READ ALL RULES!
The UNDERSIGNED hereby represent and warrant that they are the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) of the MINOR CONTESTANT named below and that they have the full power, authority, capacity and right, without limitations, to execute, deliver and perform this Release.

1. Photography and Filming. Commercial photography and filming are often conducted at the Brazos Valley Fair and Rodeo. MINOR CONTESTANT may appear in resulting pictures or film which may be used in connection with advertising, news reporting, public relations, or other activities regarding the Brazos Valley Fair and Rodeo. Acceptance of this agreement constitutes your consent for the Brazos Valley Fair and Rodeo to use any pictures or films it deems appropriate, and releases and waives all claims for compensation and any rights of review and approval, copyright, and right of publicity with respect thereto.

2. Request to Participate. The UNDERSIGNED hereby request that the MINOR CONTESTANT be granted permission to enter the restricted areas and participate as a contestant in the MUTTON BUSTIN' competition (hereinafter referred to as "Event").

3. Consideration. In consideration of MINOR CONTESTANT being allowed to participate in the Event, the UNDERSIGNED hereby agree to the terms of this Contestant Waiver and Release Form.

4. Acknowledgement of Risk. The UNDERSIGNED understand that minor's entry into the restricted area and/or participation in the Event contains DANGER AND RISK OF INJURY OR DEATH TO PARTICIPATE, that conditions of the arena change from time to time and may become more hazardous, that animals can be dangerous and unpredictable, and that there is INHERENT DANGER in the Event which we each truly understand and appreciate and voluntarily assume because the minor and we choose to do so. Each of the undersigned has observed the Event of the type that the minor seeks to participate in. We further understand that the arena surface, access ways or lack thereof, lighting or lack thereof, and weather conditions all change and pose a danger to the minor. We further understand that other contestants and participants pose a danger to the minor, but nevertheless, WE EACH VOLUNTARILY ELECT TO ACCEPT ALL RISKS connected with the minor's entry into the restricted area and/or participation in the Event.

5. Release of Liability & Covenant Not to Sue. The UNDERSIGNED, by participating in the activities on the premises of Brazos Valley Fair and Rodeo, ("B.V.F.R.") at the Brazos County Expo Complex (the "Premises"), during the Brazos Valley Fair and Rodeo 's Rodeo (and related events), I accept and assume all risks and responsibilities for any and all claims for property damage and/or personal injury to myself, children in my custody or other persons in my group, regardless of the nature or cause of the damage or injury, and hereby release B.V.F.E., the Brazos County Expo Complex ("B.C.E.C."), County of Brazos ("C.O.B."), and their officers, directors, or employees from liability for any and all property damage, personal injuries, or other claims arising from my participation on the premises, including those that are known and unknown, foreseen and unforeseen.

6. Indemnification. I agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless B.V.F.R., B.C.E.C., and C.O.B., and their officers, directors, or employees from any claim for property damage or personal injury in connection with my activities on the premises. I further covenant not to commence or prosecute any action, suit, or other proceeding against B.V.F.R., B.C.E.C., and C.O.B., or their directors, officers or employees as a result of any property damage or personal injury received on the premises.

We have read this document and the Mutton Bustin’ General Rules; we understand it is a release of all claims. We appreciate and assume all risks inherent in the Event.

What is Mutton Bustin' ?

It’s where a child rides the back of a sheep and holds on as long as they can - hopefully for a full 8 seconds!
Mutton Bustin' is open to contestants between the ages of 3 and 7 years old and weighing 55 pounds or less. The cost to enter is $50 and includes one ticket to the Fair.
