BRYAN, TX – The Brazos Valley Fair is getting ready for another fun-filled four days of great entertainment. The Fair kicks off on Thursday October 16 with a carnival sneak-peek and runs through Sunday night October 19. This is the third year the annual fair is being held at the Brazos County Expo Complex. As always, the fair provides something for everyone, young and old alike.
This year’s entertainment line-up provides foot stomping tunes that are sure to make you want to get up and dance. The Bud Light Stage comes alive on Friday, October 17th with Kevin Fowler, Saturday, October 18th with Earl Thomas Conley and Sunday October 19th with Las Fenix and Elida Reyna Y Avante. All performances will begin after each evening’s CPRA Rodeo Performance in the North Arena.
Kevin Fowler has deep West Texas roots and performs “modest honky tonk for regular folks”. A crowd pleasing entertainer playing hits from his 7th Album “How Country Are Ya?” that debuted in March 2014. Kevin’s background includes a music education from the LA Guitar Institute of Technology and he currently lives in Austin Texas. He joined 2 different southern rock bands before deciding to do his own thing in 1999 and has had a successful career ever since.
Earl Thomas Conley began performing music in Nashville Tennessee and signed with GRT record label in 1974 before signing with Warner Bros. Records in 1979. Two years later he has his first Top 40 hit and the rest is history. He has had multiple top 40 songs and been nominated for multiple Grammy awards. Some of his hits include “Fire & Smoke”, “I have loved you Girl”, “Love out Loud” and “Holding her and Loving You”.
Elida Reyna Y Avante has an impressive track record with 18 albums released. She was born in San Antonio and grew up in Mercedes. Her first album, Atrevete won multiple Tejano Music Awards and went Gold. She has an impressive total of 10 Tejano Music Awards and she is the first female tejano artist to win a Latin Grammy Award, Best Tejano Album, since Selena in 1993.
The Fair will also have entertainers performing throughout the weekend on the Rockin’ Spur Stage. Acts including Austin English, Hi-Fi Band, Colt Buckelew & The Crossroads, The Silvertones, and Katye Hamlin are just some of the bands that will delight everyone while they visit the attractions and exhibits throughout the Fair.
Other new additions to the Fair this year include a Tailgating Area, Armadillo Races and a Cowboy Boot Camp with hands on activities for children. Be sure to mark your calendar and come enjoy this community event.
